Instructor de Danza Local Celebra 7 Años de Traer Alegría a la Comunidad

Oklahoma City, OK - El 7º Evento de Rhythm of the World: Danza y Música de Alrededor del Mundo se llevará a cabo el sábado, 25 de marzo. Marjan Esaa, fundadora de Rhythm of the World, sufrió una pérdida traumática en el 2015 que la dejó vacía y agotada. Ella era incapaz de bailar y coreografiar y cayó en una profunda depresión. "Bailar es una experiencia espiritual para mí; Una forma de comunicarse con Dios y con el mundo. A mediados de marzo de 2015, aborté a mi segundo bebé, y fue el evento más difícil y devastador que he experimentado. Me estaba ahogando en mi tristeza. El Ritmo del Mundo, 2016, se acercaba rápidamente y no podía decidirme sobre una canción - y mucho menos una coreografía - para mi pieza en solitario. La ansiedad y la inseguridad aumentaban el vacío que ya sentía. Entonces un día, de repente me dí cuenta que estaba tratando de diseñar un baile de alegría mientras experimentaba un gran dolor. Me convencí con éxito de que necesitaba bailar a través de la tristeza. Dediqué el espectáculo al bebé que perdimos, y luego dejé que mis sentimientos fueran. No puedo comenzar a decirte el peso que salió de mis hombros después de que realizara ‘Till I Meet You Again’ (Hasta que te vuelva a encontrar) esa noche."
El esposo de Marjan, el Dr. Steve Scott es un psicólogo licenciado y explica: "La aflicción es un proceso, y un proceso individual en eso. Un paso importante en el proceso de afflicción de Marjan fue cuando ella realizó una pieza coreografiada dedicada al bebé que perdimos. Sé que ayudó a Marjan y a mí mismo; Y espero que también haya tocado la vida de otros que estaban luchando con su propia pena."
“Estoy agradecida por tantas cosas, especialmente mi hijo más reciente, Lucas Gabriel, que nació en octubre de 2016. Mi baile solo este año pretende expresar ese sentimiento de alegría y agradecimiento a Dios por las vidas de mis dos hijos Lucas Gabriel y Víctor Miguel. También no puedo esperar a que el mundo vea la pieza más reciente interpretada por Mystical Hips Dance Troupe, mi grupo estudiantil", comparte Marjan.

Local Dance Instructor Celebrates 7 Years of Bringing Joy to the Community

“Sharing How One Experience Helped Her Transition from Pain to Joy Through Dance

Oklahoma City, OK – The 7th Annual Rhythm of the World: Dance and Music from Around the Globe event will be held Saturday, March 25th. The event will showcase a wide array of diverse local talent and allow audience members to experience the majestic beauty of near and far cultures, complete with a variety of colors and rhythm that embody and exemplify the joy of music and dance. The event will be held at the Auditorium at Randall University (formerly Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College) located at 3701 I-35 S Service Rd, Moore. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, children 5 years or under are admitted free.
Marjan Esaa, founder of Rhythm of the World, suffered a traumatic loss in 2015 that left her empty and drained. She was unable to dance and choreograph and fell into a deep depression. “Dancing is a spiritual experience for me; a way of communicating with God and the world. In mid-March of 2015, I miscarried my second baby, and it was the most difficult and devastating event I have ever experienced. I was drowning in my sadness. The Rhythm of the World, 2016, was fast approaching and I could not decide on a song – let alone a choreography - for my solo piece. Anxiety and insecurity were adding to the emptiness I was already feeling. Then one day, it suddenly occurred to me that I was trying to design a dance of joy while experiencing great pain. I successfully convinced myself that I needed to dance through the sadness. I dedicated the performance to the child we lost, and then let my feelings go. I cannot begin to tell you the weight that came off of my shoulders after I performed “Till I Meet You Again” that night.”
Marjan’s husband, Dr. Steve Scott is a licensed psychologist and explains, “Grieving is a process, and an individual process at that. A major milestone in Marjan’s grieving process was when she performed a choreographed piece dedicated to the child we lost. I know it helped Marjan and myself; and I hope it also touched the lives of others who were struggling with their own grief.”
“I’m grateful for so many things, especially my newest son Lucas Gabriel who was born in October, 2016. My solo piece this year aims at expressing that feeling of joy and thankfulness to God for the lives of my two sons Lucas Gabriel and Victor Miguel. I also cannot wait for the world to see the newest piece performed by Mystical Hips Dance Troupe, my student group," shares Marjan.
Each year, local performers represent many global traditions including: Hawaiian Hula from the Halau Hula ‘O Nani dancers, Mexican Folkloric dances by Norahua Folklorico Mexicano, Latin-flavored dances from Candela Latin Dancers from Clips ‘N Hips, Traditional Indian dancing by Nritya Arpan Dance School, Bellydancing by Marjan and her Mystical Hips Dance Troupe, Hip Hop by Men of RACE and many more.
