OCCC’s final screening for the 2017-2018 NTL season: “Yerma”

Oklahoma City – Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) and Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) have again partnered with National Theatre Live! (NTL) to present theater productions to audiences in the college’s Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) Theater. The final NTL screening of the 2017-2018 season is “Yerma” Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 6 p.m.
The incredible Billie Piper (“Penny Dreadful,” “Great Britain”) returns in her Olivier Award-winning role. A young woman is driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child, in Simon Stone’s radical production of Lorca’s achingly powerful masterpiece. Set in contemporary London, Piper’s portrayal of a woman in her thirties struggling to conceive builds with elemental force to a staggering, shocking climax.
The screening of “Yerma” does not have an intermission and the performance contains strobe lighting. All NTL events at OCCC are encore presentations pre-recorded in high-definition.
The showing begins at 6 p.m. in the college’s VPAC Theater. Adult tickets are now available online for $15 at tickets.occc.edu. Children and student tickets are available at the door for $5. For tickets or information visit tickets.occc.edu or call 405-682-7579.
NTL is the National Theatre’s groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theater live from the London stage to cinemas across the United Kingdom and around the world.
OCCC enrolls more than 20,000 students annually. The college is currently the largest adult basic education provider in the state. OCCC offers a full range of associate degree programs that prepare students to transfer to baccalaureate institutions while other degree and certificate programs prepare students for immediate employment. At OCCC, students receive a quality education with small class sizes, dedicated professors and leadership opportunities. Students can choose from more than 60 major fields of study and participate in any of the 40+ clubs and organizations. For more information about OCCC, visit www.occc.edu.
