3rd Annual Fiesta in Broken Arrow’s Rose District
The Rose District and Supermercados Morelos to host Fiesta de Mayo 2023, a celebration of all Hispanic heritage and cultures
Tulsa, Oklahoma - Broken Arrow’s busiest business district, the Rose District, is partnering for the 3rd year in a row with Supermercados Morelos, to host the 3rd annual Fiesta celebrating Hispanic heritage and cultures.
Also for the third year in a row, the Rose District has partnered with Vega & Treviño Consultants, to ensure the event authentically celebrates Hispanic culture. For that reason, the event previously known as “Cinco de Mayo Fiesta” has traded its name to Fiesta de Mayo and has moved further from the stereotypical cliche that is Cinco de Mayo.
“Hispanics don’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo,” said Margarita Vega, Vega & Treviño’s CEO. “Cinco de Mayo is simply a day that commemorates a battle for Mexican territory with the French army. The Mexican army won, which is a big deal, but it’s far from being a Mexican holiday. To inclusively celebrate ALL Hispanic cultures that expand from México to Latin America and Spain, it’s important that we depart from the Cinco de Mayo hype.”
Oklahoma’s largest Hispanic grocery chain, Supermercados Morelos, consistently supports cultural events, hence, they’ve taken the lead to be the presenting sponsors.Other local businesses have vehemently stepped up to sponsor to ensure the success of the event, among them are: TTCU, Rivas & Associates, AVB Bank, Arvest Bank, Bank of Oklahoma, Northeastern State University, and the Hispanic American Foundation.
Each year, Vega & Treviño strives to up the ante by adding bigger and better entertainment, and more food variety. The 2023 Fiesta promises to have food from México, Puerto Rico and Guatemalan flavors. As for Entertainment, aside from local favorites such as Papa Rap and Mexican and Guatemalan Folklórico Dancers, people can expect to dance the night away with Venezuelan Latin Gaita. This genre fuses African, indigenous, and Spanish influences to create rhythmic music anyone can dance to.
Aside from food and entertainment, there will be a kids zone, an art zone, a car show, and over 60 various vendors to shop from. Fiesta de Mayo will be held from 2 to 10 p.m on Saturday, May 13.

El Distrito de las Rosas y Supermercados Morelos serán anfitriones de la Fiesta de Mayo 2023, una celebración de toda la herencia y culturas hispanas
Tulsa, Oklahoma - El distrito comercial más concurrido de Broken Arrow, el Rose District, se asocia por 3er año consecutivo con Supermercados Morelos, para organizar la 3ra Fiesta anual que celebra la herencia y las culturas hispanas.
También por tercer año consecutivo, el Distrito de las Rosas se ha asociado con Vega & Treviño Consultants, para garantizar que el evento celebre auténticamente la cultura hispana. Por esa razón, el evento anteriormente conocido como "Fiesta del Cinco de Mayo" ha cambiado su nombre a Fiesta de Mayo y se ha alejado del cliché estereotipado que es el Cinco de Mayo.
"Los hispanos no celebran el Cinco de Mayo", dijo Margarita Vega, CEO de Vega & Treviño. "El Cinco de Mayo es simplemente un día que conmemora una batalla por territorio mexicano con el ejército francés. El ejército mexicano ganó, lo cual es un gran problema, pero está lejos de ser una fiesta mexicana. Last month, I got alerts from FICO that the card has been closed by CITI, the issuer for lack of activity-----my scores PLUNGED…...EQ went -24 TU went -17 and EX -15. I do have a car loan about 2.5 years into a 5 years’ term. I had a previous late payment on my first student loan servicer. I applied for a credit card earlier last but was not approved due to my indecent credit report. I asked a question: what should I do to get a decent credit score?
