Atletas de Oklahoma compiten en los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024
Oklahoma City, OK.- El Camino a París pasa por Oklahoma City para al menos tres atletas que competirán en los Juegos Olímpicos de 2024. En abril, Casey Eichfeld y Evy Liebfarth se clasificaron para los Juegos en las Pruebas del Equipo Olímpico de EE. UU. para Canoa, Kayak Slalom y Kayak Cross celebradas en RIVERSPORT OKC.
"Estos atletas y otros en el equipo nacional de canoa/kayak han pasado mucho tiempo en Oklahoma City compitiendo en varios eventos a lo largo de los años", dijo Mike Knopp, director ejecutivo de RIVERSPORT. "Estamos muy orgullosos de lo que lograron y nos sentimos honrados de ser parte de su viaje".
En remo, la sculler Michele Sechser remó en la Universidad de Tulsa antes de entrenar durante un período en el Centro Nacional de Alto Rendimiento OKC de RIVERSPORT. Knopp también viajará a París para los Juegos Olímpicos. Con Oklahoma City albergando un evento de Clasificación Mundial la próxima primavera y luego el Campeonato Mundial de Canotaje Slalom en 2026, esperamos que atletas de todo el mundo vengan a Oklahoma City a entrenar y tal vez incluso mudarse aquí".
