Cambios en el liderazgo del Caucus Demócrata del Senado de Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY – La líder demócrata del Senado, Kay Floyd, quien ha liderado su caucus durante los últimos seis años, anunció que la senadora Julia Kirt, demócrata de Oklahoma City, comenzará oficialmente su papel como líder el miércoles 13 de noviembre. Además, el senador Michael Brooks, demócrata de Oklahoma City, sucederá oficialmente al senador Kevin Matthews, demócrata de Tulsa, como presidente del caucus. Tanto Floyd como Matthews han completado sus últimos mandatos en el Senado debido a los límites de mandato.

Changes on the Oklahoma Senate Democratic Caucus Leadership 

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Democratic Leader Kay Floyd, who has led her caucus for the past six years, announced Sen. Julia Kirt, D-Oklahoma City, will officially begin her role as leader on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Additionally, Sen. Michael Brooks, D-Oklahoma City, will officially succeed Sen. Kevin Matthews, D-Tulsa, as caucus chair. Both Floyd and Matthews have completed their final terms in the Senate due to term limits.

“On behalf of Senator Matthews and myself, we are grateful for the opportunity we had to serve the Senate Democratic Caucus, our districts, and the people of Oklahoma,” said Floyd, D-Oklahoma City. “We have the greatest confidence in the leadership skills and experience of Senators Kirt and Brooks, and wish all of our newly elected and returning members the very best as they prepare for the 60th Legislature.”
