Dando Prioridad al Arte y Música en las Escuelas

Oklahoma City.-El Coro de primaria All City presentó el 8 de mayo en la escuela secundaria Northwest Classen. en la que participaron 14 escuelas y 178 estudiantes. Fue organizado por OKCPS y el equipo líder Rebecca Vaughn y Patti Higgins. “Un agradeciento especial a Rhonda Taylor, Director de Bellas Artes, y Jon Olsen, quienes organizaron el sonido para nuestro evento” dijo Ms. Vaughn, muchas gracias a Dena Frankenfield y Mitch Kusbel quienes fueron excelentes anfitriones. Nos gustaría dar las gracias a todos nuestros maestros y los padres que dieron como lo dice el dicho, dieron la extra milla para asistir a ensayos adicionales.
Gracias también a Sigma Alpha Iota, a Women’s Fraternity quienes tienen como prioridad principal y objetivo en el interés de la música en las escuelas públicas. Este grupo de mujeres ha otorgado generosamente $600 dólares a la Escuela Primaria Hawthorne y su profesora de música-Rachel Lackmeyer para ayudar a proporcionar los necesarios suministros, plan de estudios y los instrumentos.
El Homenajeado del año que viene es la escuela primaria Hillcrest y su profesor de música Jennifer Armstrong-Diaz.
También reconocimos nuestros maestros del año Cunkle de Dwight de Horace Mann (finalista de OKCPS maestro del año) junto con Jennifer Armstrong-Diaz de la escuela primaria Hillcrest y Jessica Baumgarner de Wilson Elementary.
Este año la Clínica y concierto fue un evento maravilloso y no hubieramos tenido éxito sin la ayuda y las aportaciones de todos.

Oklahoma City.- Elementary All City Choir was on May 8th at Northwest Classen High School. 14 schools and 178 students participated. We had Dr. Darla Eshelman as our Clinician and Dr Carol Lawrence as our Accompanist. It was organized by OKCPS Team Leader Rebecca Vaughn and Patti Higgins. Rhonda Taylor,Fine Arts Director, along with Jon Olsen, put together the sound for our event. Dena Frankenfield and Mitch Kusbel were on hand for site needs and served as superb hosts.
We would like to say Thank You to all of our Teachers and Parents who went the extra mile to attend additional rehearsals.
Thanks also to Sigma Alpha Iota, a Women’s Fraternity who’s primary goal is to further the interest of Music in Public Schools. This Women’s Group has generously awarded $600 to Hawthorne Elementary and their Music Teacher Rachel Lackmeyer to help provide much needed supplies, curriculum and instruments. Next year’s honoree is Hillcrest Elementary and their Music Teacher Jennifer Armstrong-Diaz.
We also recognized our Teachers of the Year Dwight Cunkle from Horace Mann (a Finalist for OKCPS Teacher of the Year) along with Jennifer Armstrong-Diaz from Hillcrest Elementary and Jessica Baumgarner from Wilson Elementary.
This year’s Clinic and Concert was a wonderful event and would not have been a success without the help and input from everyone.
