INTEGRIS Health Children's Celebra Clínica de Ositos de Peluche

INTEGRIS Health Children's en Integris Health Baptist Medical Center se llenó recientemente de pequeños médicos, pacientes de peluche y muchas sonrisas mientras organizaban su clínica anual de ositos de peluche.

 Se animó a los niños a traer un osito de peluche o su animal de peluche favorito de casa para participar. Este evento divertido y práctico ayudó a los niños a aprender sobre el cuidado de la salud de una manera lúdica y acogedora, dando a sus animales de peluche favoritos chequeos, inyecciones, radiografías, aplicando vendajes y escuchando los latidos del corazón con estetoscopios.

 "La Clínica del Osito de Peluche ayuda a los niños a sentirse más cómodos con la atención médica", dijo Ashley Ochs, gerente de vida infantil de INTEGRIS Health Children's. "Podemos familiarizarlos con el equipo médico, dándoles palabras para usar cuando van al médico y realmente empoderando a los niños para que sean defensores de sí mismos".

Los ositos de peluche se les daban a los niños que no tenían uno. El evento estuvo abierto a pacientes pediátricos, visitantes e hijos de cuidadores de INTEGRIS Health.

INTEGRIS Health Children’s Holds Teddy Bear Clinic

INTEGRIS Health Children’s at Integris Health Baptist Medical Center was recently filled with tiny doctors, stuffed patients and lots of smiles as they hosted their annual Teddy Bear Clinic.

 Children were encouraged to bring a teddy bear or their favorite stuffed animal from home to participate. This fun, hands-on event helped kids learn about health care in a playful and welcoming way—giving their favorite stuffed animals check-ups, shots, x-rays, applying bandages and listening to heartbeats with stethoscopes.

 "The Teddy Bear Clinic helps kids feel more comfortable with health care,” said Ashley Ochs, the child life manager at INTEGRIS Health Children's. “We are able to familiarize them with medical equipment, giving them words to use when they go to the doctor and really empowering the kids to be an advocate for themselves."

Teddy bears were given to children who didn’t have one. The event was open to pediatric patients, visitors and the children of INTEGRIS Health caregivers.
