Juez Federal Bloqueó la regla de Cargo Público

 Nueva York-- Hace sólo unas horas, un juez federal bloqueó la regla de cargo público, una regulación amplia que habría hecho más fácil para la Administración del actual gobierno rechazara las solicitudes de tarjeta verde y visa presentadas por inmigrantes de bajos ingresos a quienes el gobierno determina que son o podrían convertirse en una carga para los contribuyentes estadounidenses. Cesar Vargas, Esq., codirector de la Dream Action Coalition y el primer abogado indocumentado de Nueva York, emitió la siguiente declaración:

 "Felicitamos a la corte federal por derribar otro intento del gobierno de atacar a los inmigrantes. Al derribar la regla del cargo público, el tribunal derribó la xenofobia. No hay una base legal y racional para que la Casa Blanca altere las regulaciones a menos que sea para disminuir drásticamente el número de inmigrantes que no son blancos o de habla inglesa y para robarles su capacidad para obtener el estatus permanente y la eventual ciudadanía. Pero al igual que la Hidra, la serpiente de muchas cabezas en la mitología griega, que crece otra cabeza después de que uno sea cortado, Stephen Miller y los antiinmigrantes seguramente crearán otra política para atacar a nuestras familias inmigrantes. Continuaremos la lucha para proteger a los Dreamers, defender DACA, los niños inmigrantes y el sueño americano".

Court Strikes Down Public Charge Rule

NEW YORK, NY --  Just a few hours ago, a federal judge blocked the public charge rule, a sweeping regulation that would've made it easier for the Administration to reject green card and visa applications filed by low-income immigrants whom the government determines are or might become a burden on U.S. Taxpayers. Cesar Vargas, Esq., co-director of the Dream Action Coalition and New York's first undocumented attorney, issued the following statement: 

 "We commend the federal court for striking down another attempt by the government to attack immigrants. By striking down the public charge rule, the court strikes down another ugly head of xenophobia. There's no legal and rational basis for the White House to alter regulations unless it's to drastically decrease the number of immigrants who are not white or English speaking and to robbed them of their ability to get permanent status and eventual citizenship. But just like the Hydra, the many-headed serpent in Greek mythology, that grows another head after one is axed, Stephen Miller and anti-immigrants are sure to create another policy to attack our immigrant families. We will continue the fight to protect Dreamers, defend DACA, immigrant children, and the American Dream."
