La policía de Norman arresta a persona en relación con un tiroteo fatal

El Departamento de Policía de Norman (NPD) respondió a un informe de un tiroteo en la cuadra 4100 de W. Main Street aproximadamente a las 4:23 p.m. del martes.

La investigación inicial indica que dos individuos conducían vehículos hacia el oeste en W. Main Street cuando se detuvieron en la carretera y se produjo un altercado. Durante el curso del altercado, uno de los individuos sacó un arma de fuego y disparó al menos un tiro golpeando al otro individuo.

Una vez en la escena, los oficiales localizaron a un hombre adulto con una aparente herida de bala. Los oficiales y testigos inmediatamente comenzaron a prestar ayuda. El hombre adulto fue transportado a un hospital local donde más tarde murió a causa de las heridas sufridas durante el incidente.

El individuo que disparó al otro hombre adulto, más tarde identificado como Mark Kottka, de 62 años (fecha de nacimiento: 27/09/1960), permaneció en la escena. Kottka fue detenido inmediatamente por los oficiales. Fue arrestado y registrado en el Centro de Detención del Condado de Cleveland por una denuncia de asesinato en primer grado.

Los investigadores piden a cualquier persona que haya presenciado o tenga información relacionada con este incidente que llame a NPD al 405-321-1600 o a Norman Crime Stoppers al 405-366-STOP (7867).

El incidente sigue siendo investigado por la División de Investigaciones Criminales del NPD.

Norman Police Arrest One in connection to Fatal Shooting

The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of a shooting in the 4100 block of W. Main Street at approximately 4:23 p.m. Tuesday.

 The initial investigation indicates that two individuals were driving vehicles westbound on W. Main Street when they stopped in the roadway and an altercation ensued. During the course of the altercation, one of the individuals produced a firearm and fired at least one shot hitting the other individual.

 Once on scene, officers located one adult male with an apparent gunshot wound in the roadway. Officers and witnesses immediately began rendering aid. The adult male was transported to a local hospital where he later died from injuries sustained during the incident.

 The individual who shot the other adult male, later identified as 62-year-old Mark Kottka (DOB: 9/27/1960), remained on scene. Kottka was immediately detained by officers. He was arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a complaint of first degree murder.

 Investigators ask anyone who witnessed or has information related to this incident to call NPD at 405-321-1600 or Norman Crime Stoppers at 405-366-STOP (7867). 

 The incident remains under investigation by the NPD Criminal Investigations Division.
