New Life
By Harmonee Wilfong | Senior, Capitol Hill High School
We will always have a new year to celebrate on December 31st. We make resolutions for the days to come in the year, and you don’t quite know what may happen. New relationship, places, and experiences. Ms. Thomas, “A new year is something of a gift.” Sometimes things stay the same though. For us at Capitol Hill High School we still get up and go to school. We ease into coming back and writing a new year. We start work getting ready for the next 5 months till the school year. For us seniors we begin the big countdown to graduation.
However, we do lose somethings. We lose some people and we lose some of the bad parts of ourselves. This however is a good thing. We come upon the quote, “New year, new me”. It’s ok to let go and move past the troubles of the past year.
We thrive around the subtlety of humankind, we adapt and learn how to be a better person. So, whether you were having a bad year last year it’s a new year. We’ve survived this much of the year and have had many more surprises. Another quote I would like to give is “Laugh more, kiss slowly, and love more.” If you have any stories or events, you would like to cover please contact El Latino American Newspaper either by email ellatinonews@hotmail.com or call (405)632-1934.
