Ofrece programas gratuitos de regreso a clases

CIUDAD DE OKLAHOMA – Al comenzar el ciclo escolar 2026-2027, los funcionarios de EMBARK quieren recordar a estudiantes y maestros dos programas gratuitos que ofrecen transporte confiable y seguro durante todo el ciclo escolar y más allá: el Programa Haul Pass y el programa Road Scholars. 

Programa de Pases 

El Programa Haul Pass de EMBART  ofrece transporte gratuito para jóvenes de 18 años o menos en todos los autobuses de ruta fija y para  el servicio RAPID NW. Además, los estudiantes que asisten a la escuela después de los 18 años son elegibles para el programa Haul Pass, con verificación. El servicio opera todo el año, a cualquier hora del día, y el pase es válido para todas las rutas y áreas de servicio de EMBARK. 

"No todos los estudiantes tienen acceso a transporte confiable y seguro hacia y desde la escuela, actividades extracurriculares o trabajos extracurriculares", dijo Jesse Rush, director de EMBARK. "Creamos el Programa Haul Pass para satisfacer esa necesidad en nuestra comunidad."

Cualquier joven de 18 años o menos es elegible para el Programa Haul Pass. Todos los participantes deben completar un formulario de solicitud para recibir su Haul Pass para montar. El formulario puede enviarse en línea o recogerlo en el mostrador de Servicio al Cliente en el Centro de Tránsito del centro. Los jóvenes de 12 años en adelante reciben una identificación con foto de EMBARK; esta identificación no es requerida para jóvenes de 11 años o menos. 

Programa de Becarios 

El programa Road Scholars de EMBARK  ofrece a grupos de estudiantes de 25 o menos viajes escolares gratuitos en el autobús de ruta fija, RAPID NW o el ferry Oklahoma River Cruise hacia un destino dentro del área de servicio de EMBARK. 

"Nuestro programa Road Scholars ofrece a los maestros transporte público gratuito para su próxima excursión. Nuestro sistema de autobuses de ruta fija sirve a muchos destinos populares de Oklahoma City, incluyendo el Monumento Nacional de Oklahoma City, el Zoológico de Oklahoma City, la Mansión del Gobernador, el Museo de Arte de Oklahoma City y el Museo Nacional Vaquero y del Patrimonio Occidental", dijo Rush. "Al usar el transporte público, los maestros también ayudan a los estudiantes a aprender sobre las obras del transporte público y sus muchos beneficios."

Los maestros interesados en participar en el programa Road Scholars deben completar el Formulario de Road Scholarsal menos tres semanas antes de su viaje de campo planeado. Las excursiones deben realizarse entre las 9 a.m. y las 3:30 p.m. entre semana y deben ser de ida y vuelta. Una vez aprobados, los maestros reciben pases Road Scholars, un itinerario y lineamientos de viaje, así como un horario de autobús y ferry.

Offers free programs for students and teachers heading back to school

Students ride free with Haul Pass program; Road Scholars makes field trips more cost-effective for teachers

OKLAHOMA CITY – As the 2026-2027 school year kicks off, EMBARK officials want to remind students and teachers about two free programs that provide reliable, safe transportation throughout the school year and beyond: the Haul Pass Program and the Road Scholars program. 

Haul Pass Program

EMBARK’s Haul Pass Program offers free transportation for youth 18 and under on all fixed-route buses and for RAPID NW service. Additionally, students who are attending school past age 18 are eligible for the Haul Pass program, with verification. The service runs year-round, any time of day, and the pass is valid for all EMBARK routes and service areas. 

“Not every student has access to reliable, safe transportation to and from school, extra-curricular activities or after-school jobs,” said Jesse Rush, Director of EMBARK. “We created the Haul Pass Program to meet that need in our community.” 

Any youth 18 and under is eligible for the Haul Pass Program. All participants must complete an application form to receive their Haul Pass for riding. The form can be submitted online or picked up at the Customer Service counter at the downtown Transit Center. Youth 12 and older receive an EMBARK photo ID; this ID is not required for youth 11 and younger. 

Road Scholars Program

EMBARK’s Road Scholars program offers student groups of 25 or fewer free field trip transportation on the fixed-route bus, RAPID NW or the Oklahoma River Cruise ferry to a destination within EMBARK’s service area. 

“Our Road Scholars program provides teachers with free public transportation for their next field trip. Our fixed-route bus system serves many popular Oklahoma City destinations including the Oklahoma City National Memorial, the Oklahoma City Zoo, the Governor’s Mansion, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum,” Rush said. “By using public transportation, teachers also help students learn about public transit works and its many benefits.”

Teachers interested in participating in the Road Scholars program should complete the Road Scholars Format least three weeks before their planned field trip. Field trips should take place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and must be round-trip. Once approved, teachers receive Road Scholars passes, a trip itinerary and guidelines, and a bus and ferry schedule.
