OKCPS NOMBRA DIRECTORES EN 4 ESCUELAS PARA EL AÑO ESCOLAR 2018-2019

Oklahoma City.- Se han elegido nuevos directores para dirigir las siguientes Escuelas Públicas de Oklahoma City para el año escolar 2018-19:

• Escuela Primaria Bodine - Candice Hamilton-Greene
• Preparatoria Classen School of Advanced Studies - Scot McAdoo
• Escuela Primaria Greystone- Shlonda Brewer
• Escuela Primaria Johnson - Chris Thomas

Candice Hamilton-Greene regresará a OKCPS para dirigir la Primaria Bodine. Después de enseñar en la Primaria Edwards, se unió a las Escuelas Públicas de Millwood donde enseñó y comenzó su carrera administrativa, sirviendo como subdirectora y directora desde 2014. Conocida por su estilo de trabajo colaborativo, la Sra. Candice obtuvo su Licenciatura en Ciencias en Educación de la Universidad de Oklahoma y una Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo de la University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). Ella reemplazará a Nikki Coshow, que fue seleccionada para dirigir la Primaria Edgemere.
Scot McAdoo, el director actual de la Escuela Secundaria Webster, se transferirá para dirigir la Preparatoria Classen School of Advanced Studies (SAS) para el año escolar 2018-19. Desde 1994, Scot ha servido a OKCPS como maestro, coordinador de IB y decano de académicos en Classen SAS antes de tomar el timón en Webster. McAdoo Está emocionado de regresar a Classen SAS y promover una visión compartida de excelencia que ofrece oportunidades para maximizar el potencial único de cada estudiante. El Sr. McAdoo tiene un título universitario en Educación de la Northeastern State University y una Maestría en Diseño de Instrucción y Liderazgo Educativo de la Universidad de Oklahoma. Scot reemplazará a la Dra. Ashley Davis que se va del distrito, y el nuevo director de la escuela secundaria Webster se anunciará en una fecha posterior.
Tras haber sido parte del Equipo OKCPS durante 13 años, Shlonda Brewer, quien fue subdirectora de la Primaria Greystone, asumirá el cargo de Directora de dicha escuela primaria. También se desempeñó como subdirectora tanto en la escuela F.D Moon Academy como en la primaria North Highland. La Sra. Brewer está comprometida a trabajar con los maestros, el personal y los padres para continuar construyendo sobre el éxito de este año, asegurando que todos los estudiantes que se gradúen de Greystone tengo un éxito académico, emocional y social para estar preparados para la escuela intermedia/secundaria. Shlonda obtuvo su tpitulo universitario en Educación Primaria y una Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo de Langston University, y ella asumirá este nuevo rol cuando Neal Johnson abandone el distrito.
Chris Thomas dejará su papel de subdirector en Jefferson Middle School para tomar las riendas como director en la escuela primaria Johnson para el año escolar 2018-1919. Con trece años en educación como maestro asistente, maestro de educación especial, maestro de educación especial de secundaria y subdirector de secundaria, Chris cree que la construcción de relaciones con estudiantes, maestros, padres y la comunidad es la clave para un ambiente de aprendizaje donde cada niño se siente amado, valorado e importante. El Sr. Thomas reemplazará a Margaret Saunders Simpson, quien ahora dirigirá Wilson Elementary.

Oklahoma City.- New principals have been elected to direct the following Oklahoma City Public Schools for the 2018-19 school year:

• Greystone Elementary School - Shlonda Brewer
• Johnson Elementary School - Chris Thomas

Candice Hamilton-Greene will return to OKCPS to lead Bodine Elementary. After teaching at Edwards Elementary, she joined the Millwood Public Schools where she taught and began her administrative career, serving as assistant principal and principal since 2014. Known for her collaborative work style, Ms. Greene looks forward to working closely with families , the Bodine community and staff to create the best learning environment for the students. Candice received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). She will replace Nikki Coshow, who was selected to head Edgemere Elementary.
Scot McAdoo, the current principal of Webster High School, will be transferred to direct the Classen School of Advanced Studies (SAS) for the 2018-19 school year. Since 1994, Scot has served OKCPS as a teacher, IB coordinator and dean of academics at Classen SAS before taking the helm at Webster. McAdoo is excited to return to Classen SAS and promote a shared vision of excellence that offers opportunities to maximize the unique potential of each student. Mr. McAdoo holds a bachelor's degree in education from Northeastern State University and a master's degree in instructional design and educational leadership from the University of Oklahoma. Scot will replace Dr. Ashley Davis who is leaving the district, and the new principal of Webster High School will be announced at a later date.
After serving on the OKCPS Team for 13 years, Shlonda Brewer, who was the assistant principal of Greystone Elementary, will assume the position of Director of that elementary school. She also served as assistant principal at both F.D Moon Academy and North Highland Elementary. Mrs. Brewer is committed to working with teachers, staff and parents to continue building on this year's success, ensuring that all students graduating from Greystone have an academic, emotional and social success to be prepared for. middle school / high school Shlonda earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Langston University, and she will assume this new role when Neal Johnson leaves the district.
Chris Thomas will leave his role as deputy director at Jefferson Middle School to take the reins as principal at Johnson Elementary School for the 2018-19 school year. With thirteen years in education as an assistant teacher, special education teacher, special education high school teacher and vice principal of high school, Chris believes that building relationships with students, teachers, parents and the community is the key to a learning environment where each child feels loved, valued and important. Mr. Thomas will replace Margaret Saunders Simpson, who will now direct Wilson Elementary.
