Aspirante a Profesor Jordan Balough obtiene $5,529 para la Universidad

OKLAHOMA CITY .- El Tesorero Estatal Ken Miller anunció hoy que Suni Balough de Erick- Oklahoma es el ganador del sorteo 529 College Plan Savings. Su hijo Jordania Balough recibirá $5,529 para sus ahorros para la Universidad.

Trabajando unidos con dos asociados del distrito, el Museo de ciencia y el zoológico de Oklahoma City, “Summer Savings Adventure”, animó a las familias a darse tiempo este verano para planificar cómo pagará para la Universidad. El concurso terminó el 31 de julio.

Jordan tiene 8 años de edad y asiste a las escuelas públicas de Sweetwater en el oeste de Oklahoma. Su madre dijo que su hijo espera ser maestro algún día.

Oklahoma City.- State Treasurer Ken Miller announced today that Suni Balough of Erick, Oklahoma is the winner of the Oklahoma 529 College Savings Plan’s 2018 Summer Savings Adventure Sweepstakes. Her son Jordan Balough gets $5,529 for his college savings. Working together with two Oklahoma City Adventure District Partners, Science Museum Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City Zoo, the Summer Savings Adventure encouraged families to take time this summer to plan how they will pay for college. The sweepstakes ended on July 31. Jordan is 8 and attends Sweetwater Public Schools in western Oklahoma. His mother said he hopes to be a teacher one day. “He just loves his teachers so much that he said he wanted to be a teacher,” Suni said. Suni said the family didn’t have an Oklahoma 529 College Savings Plan (OCSP) before winning the sweepstakes, but the family is thrilled at the opportunity to get a jump on saving for higher education. “This is so exciting to us and we were so happy to hear that we’d won,” she said. “We want him to further his education so he can be successful, to grow up and be happy.” Miller, board chair of OCSP, said he hopes the Balough’s story inspires other Oklahoma families to start saving for college. “OCSP can help any family get started saving for college,” Miller said. “Even small amounts, invested over time, can make a big difference when it’s time to pursue higher education.
