Library’s Winter Festival a gateway to the holidays-Events
The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library gives the community a taste of life and culture from around the world as part of its Winter Festival, taking place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.
This event will be a celebration of many world cultures, with attendees getting a look at multiple traditions.
Cultures represented and activities offered include:
Korean – The Korean Association will show off traditional clothing and kimchi samples;
Mexican – samples of Mexican hot chocolate and Ponche;
Indian – a demonstration of Henna;
Native American – a traditional interactive dance performed by the Morningstar Dancers;
Mediterranean – Hummus Mediterranean Café will provide samples of pita and hummus;
All ages are invited to attend, and no advance registration is required.

NPD to Hold Next Coffee with a Cop on December 18
The Norman Police Department will hold its next Coffee with a Cop on Wednesday, December 18. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Neighborhood Jam, 102 W. Main Street. All community members are invited to attend, and the event is kid-friendly.
