ENERGY FC SIGN FORMER LIGUE 1 STAR ALEXY BOSETTI

OKLAHOMA CITY – Energy FC have signed forward Alexy Bosetti, pending league and federation approval, Head Coach Steve Cooke announced today. Bosetti joins OKC from Stade Lavallois of France’s third division, where he scored four goals in 15 appearances.

Bosetti began his professional career with OGC Nice in France’s first division, Ligue 1. During his time with Nice, he scored 10 goals in 75 appearances, while also scoring 13 goals in 27 appearances for Nice’s reserves.

Bosetti spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Tours FC and Sarpsborg 08 FF before securing a move to Laval in 2017.

In addition to his experience at the club level, the 25-year-old featured for the France U-19 and France U-20 teams and was a member of the squad that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2013.

“Alexy is an exciting player”, said Cooke. “He can play many roles across the front four. He is someone who I think will not only create chances for us, but he’s going to put defenders under pressure. Any time you get a chance to add a player that can score goals and create havoc for defenders, I think you take the opportunity. We’re expecting big things from Alexy this season.”

The addition of Bosetti brings the number of players signed for the 2019 season to 19. He joins goalkeepers Cody Laurendi and Bryan Byars; defenders Atiba Harris, Christian Ibeagha, Kyle Hyland, Drew Beckie, Mekeil Williams, Amer Sasivarevic, Max Gunderson and Nicolas Taravel; midfielders Marco Bustos, Callum Ross, Rafael Garcia and Josh Garcia; and forwards Deshorn Brown, Cordell Cato, Omar Gordon and Christian Eissele.

Energy FC begin the 2019 season on the road against expansion club El Paso Locomotive FC Saturday, March 9. The first home match will be against Las Vegas Lights FC Saturday, March 16 at Taft Stadium.
