INTEGRIS Health Hispanic Cancer Support Group

Celebrates 19th Anniversary

Cancer patients, survivors, family and friends are invited to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the INTEGRIS Health Hispanic Cancer Support Group on Saturday, Aug. 26.
The anniversary celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Will Rogers Garden Center, which is located at 3400 N.W. 36th Street in Oklahoma City.

RIVERSPORT to Host 2023 Flow Tour National Championships

RIVERSPORT will host the FlowRider® 2023 Flow Tour National Championships Aug. 25-27, attracting local and national riders who will compete for the championship title as well as cash prizes totaling $10,000.

Interested participants can register for the 2023 Flow Tour National Championships at riversportokc.org/flowtour. Entry starts at $60 per person, and competitors will have access to special practice sessions August 22-24. The event is free for spectators.

DSACO Festival & 5K - National Dog Day

Please join us to celebrate National Dog Day and to kick off the Down Syndrome Festival & 5K at Not Your Average Joe!!

All friendly and leashed dogs are welcome to join in on the fun! There will be puppy chow for DSACO friends and free dog treats available for our furry friends to celebrate!!

OKC Philharmonic Returns to Scissortail Park Sept. 3 for Free Concert

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic returns to Scissortail Park Sunday, Sept. 3, 8:30 p.m. with a free Labor Day weekend concert for the entire family, Marvelous Music from the Movies. Joining the OKCPHIL is one of Oklahoma’s favorite sons, singer/songwriter Graham Colton.

The concert is sponsored by Scissortail Park, located at 300 SW 7^th in Oklahoma City. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. The concert begins at 8:30 pm and arriving early is encouraged.

Animal Welfare waives dog and cat adoption fees

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare encourages everyone to adopt a dog or cat this month from the OKC Animal Shelter. In celebration of Clear the Shelters Month, the Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for all dogs and cats until Aug. 26.

All adoptable dogs and cats at OKC Animal Welfare are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, treated for worms and spayed or neutered.

The OKC Animal Shelter,  2811 SE 29^th Street, is open for adoptions from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, except City holidays. For more information, visit okc.gov/animalwelfare.
