El Puente “OKC Skydance” se ilumino en azul, naranja y amarillo para celebrar Soñadores y Jóvenes inmigrantes en Oklahoma

A MESSAGE TO CONGRESS 

Oklahoma City.- Con menos de dos semanas antes de su receso de vacaciones,del Congreso, partidarios se reunieron en el puente de Skydance para celebrar las contribuciones de soñadores y jóvenes inmigrantes e presionar al Congreso a tomar medidas antes de fin de año. Los receptors de DACA, aliados y defensores se unieron bajo las luces azules, naranja y amarillas para enviar un mensaje claro al Congreso: el Dream Act es un asunto urgente que merece atención ahora.
"Es importante que nosotros, los jóvenes, luchemos para demostrar que estamos [aquí] sino para hacer el bien," dijo Suzeth Gallegos, estudiante de una escuela secundaria y voluntaria de DAOK . "Estamos aquí para estudiar, trabajar y ser los estadunidenses más productivos que posiblemente podemos ser. Nos merecemos estar aquí y nos merecemos una oportunidad en el sueño americano".
El grupo se unió en un círculo y cerró la noche con una oración a cargo del Coordinador DAOK José Rubio. También anunció que DAOK presentará un evento de campaña Telefónica esta semana en apoyo de #DreamActNow.
Fundada en 2009, Dream Act Oklahoma es una organización comunitaria que tiene como objetivo empoderar a la comunidad inmigrante local a través de actividades de promoción y educación para garantizar la justicia para todos los inmigrantes.

OKC Skydance Bridge Lights Up In Blue, Orange, and Yellow To Celebrate Dreamers And Immigrant Youth In Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - With less than two weeks before Congress leaves for their holiday recess, supporters gathered at the Skydance Bridge to celebrate the contributions of Dreamers and immigrant youth and to urge Congress to take action before year-end.
DACA recipients, allies, and advocates joined in chants and spoke out under the blue, orange, and yellow lights to send Congress a clear message: the Dream Act this is an urgent matter that deserves attention now.
“It is important that we, the youth, fight to prove that we are [here] for nothing but to do good,” said Suzeth Gallegos, a high school senior and DAOK volunteer. “We’re here to study, work, and be the most productive Americans that we can possibly be. We deserve to be here, and we deserve a chance at the American dream.”
The group huddled in a circle and closed out the night with a prayer led by DAOK coordinator José Rubio. He also announced DAOK would be hosting a phone-banking event the following week in support of a #DreamActNow.
Established in 2009, Dream Act Oklahoma is a community-based organization that aims to empower the local immigrant community through advocacy and education to ensure justice for all immigrants.
