Estafa de multas de tráfico enviando mensajes de texto
OKLAHOMA City.-El fiscal general Gentner Drummond advierte a los habitantes de Oklahoma sobre una estafa generalizada que implica mensajes de texto fraudulentos sobre multas de tráfico sin resolver. El mensaje instruye a los destinatarios a realizar el pago por la infracción de tráfico para evitar que les suspendan el carné de conducir.
El texto afirma provenir del Departamento de Seguridad Pública o de la Patrulla de Carreteras de Oklahoma.
"Estos mensajes de texto son estafas diseñadas para engañar a los destinatarios y hacer que hagan clic en enlaces dañinos y proporcionen información financiera personal", dijo Drummond. "Si recibes uno de estos mensajes de texto fraudulentos, no interactúes con el mensaje. Borra el mensaje o denúncialo como fraude."
Drummond afirmó que el Departamento de Seguridad Pública y la Patrulla de Carreteras de Oklahoma no cobran por infracciones de tráfico. En su lugar, las multas las cobra la oficina del secretario judicial.

Traffic Ticket Texting Scam
OKLAHOMA CITY .-Attorney General Gentner Drummond is warning Oklahomans about a prevalent scam involving fraudulent text messages about unresolved traffic tickets. The message instructs recipients to make payment for the traffic violation to avoid having their driver’s license suspended.
The text claims to come from the Department of Public Safety or the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
“These text messages are scams designed to trick recipients into clicking on harmful links and providing personal financial information,” Drummond said. “If you receive one of these scam texts, do not interact with the message. Delete the message or report it as fraud.”
Drummond said the Department of Public Safety and Oklahoma Highway Patrol do not collect payments for traffic violations. Instead, fines are collected by the court clerk’s office.
