“Read Across America Week”

Oklahoma City.-“Promoting the love of literacy is one of our school top priorities. Through high quality learning experiences, we prepare each student to acquire, construct and communicate meaning across all grades and curriculum”.

‘Prairie Queen Public School is committed to implementing a comprehensive literacy approach focused on increasing student achievement. Learning to read, write and communicate is a basic civil right of every child and lays the foundation of life-long learning. Reading provides children with the opportunities that will allow them to pursue desired careers, understand world events, and better understand their own personal connections to the world. Through our event “Read Across America Week” we accomplished our  literacy vision and mission, we invite all of our literacy friends to learn more about what literacy is, what it can and should look like within the classrooms, and how it can be developed and encouraged outside the classroom.”We finished celebrating our Read Across America Week with our literacy night.  Teachers shared some of their favorite books with students and they all received a book as a gift. It was an enjoyable for the kids and Prairie Queen teachers.” Said Mrs. Cisneros-Prairie Queen’s Librarian
