OCCC DA LA BIENVENIDA A LA ACTUACIÓN DE EL GRAN DIVORCIO DE C.S. LEWIS

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA,– Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) da la bienvenida a su Centro de Artes Visuales y Escénicas (VPAC) una representación de  The Great Divorce de C.S. Lewis, presentada por The Fellowship for Performing Arts. "Estamos muy contentos de organizar representaciones de gira en nuestro teatro, además de nuestra serie de artes escénicas", dijo Lemuel Bardeguez de OCCC, quien supervisa la división de Programas Culturales de la universidad, que incluye el VPAC. "Los espectáculos, como  The Great Divorce de C.S. Lewis,  nos dan muchas oportunidades para brindar a nuestra comunidad experiencias de teatro en vivo".

Originalmente una novela publicada en 1945, El gran divorcio fue adaptada para el teatro por Max Mclean y reflexiona sobre los conceptos cristianos del Cielo y el Infierno. Esta versión actualizada y ampliada de la producción original cuenta con cuatro actores que interpretan a 22 personajes en una actuación de 90 minutos.

"Asociarnos con The Fellowship for Performing Arts y otros grupos similares nos ayuda a continuar llevando las artes al sur de OKC", dijo Bardeguez.

El Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) es un espacio de teatro de última generación de 1,049 asientos ubicado en el campus de Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC). Su misión, cumplida desde 2014, es aumentar el acceso a programas y espectáculos culturales de clase mundial para poblaciones desatendidas.

OCCC VPAC WELCOMES PERFORMANCE OF C.S. LEWIS’ THE GREAT DIVORCE

[OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA, JULY 29] – Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) welcomes to its Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) a performance of C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce, presented by The Fellowship for Performing Arts. The show takes place at the VPAC on Sunday, October 17 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at tickets.occc.edu and cost $49 to $99.

“We’re excited to host touring performances in our theatre in addition to our performing arts series,” said OCCC’s Lemuel Bardeguez, who oversees the college’s Cultural Programs division, which includes the VPAC. “Touring shows, like C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce, give us lots of opportunities to provide our community with live theatre experiences.” 

Originally a novel published in 1945, The Great Divorce was adapted for stage by Max Mclean and reflects on Christian concepts of Heaven and Hell. This updated and expanded version of the original production features four actors portraying 22 characters in a 90-minute performance.

“Partnering with The Fellowship for Performing Arts and other similar groups helps us continue to bring the arts to South OKC,” said Bardeguez.
