REGRESA LA SUPERESTRELLA: RAFAEL AMAYA
Telemundo develó el elenco oficial que lidera la octava temporada de su exitosa franquicia, El Señor de los Cielos, encabezada por el esperado regreso de la superestrella Rafael Amaya como el legendario Aurelio Casillas. La séptima temporada de la galardonada Super Serie™ pareció sellar el fin de Casillas. Sin embargo, el icónico personaje demostró ser invencible y regresa más decidido que nunca a recuperar todo lo que ha perdido. Filmada actualmente en México, la nueva temporada de El Señor de los Cielos es producida por Telemundo Studios y escrita por Luis Zelkowicz.
Retomando los personajes favoritos de la audiencia están Carmen Aub (como Rutila Casillas), Ivan Arana (como Ismael Casillas), Isabella Castillo (como Diana Ahumada) y Alejandro López (como Súper Javi), con la participación especial de Lisa Owen, Robinson Díaz, y Salvador Pineda. También se unen al elenco los actors Rubén Cortada, África Zavala, y Yuri Vargas como nuevos personajes recurrentes.
El elenco estelar lo completan Maricela González, Karla Carillo, Thali Garcia, Alan Slim, Karen Sandoval, Denia Agalianou, Carlos Corona, Daniel Martínez, Elsy Reyes, José Sedek, Wendy de los Cobos, Roberto Escobar, Sebastián González, Brenda Hanst, Daniel Martinez Campos, Renata Manterola, Mimi Morales, Jorge Cárdenas, entre otros.

En la nueva temporada, para todos los que lo conocen, Aurelio Casillas está muerto. Solo sus enemigos de la DEA saben el secreto mejor guardado del desierto, el Señor de los Cielos está más vivo que nunca y decidido a asumir nuevamente el poder. Aurelio establece una poderosa unión con aliados de temporadas anteriores, mientras se enfrenta a nuevos romances y descubre misterios familiares, arriesgando nuevamente su vida en nombre de la venganza.
Basada en Mexico y el Caribe, la nueva temporada de El Señor de los Cielos es dirigida por Juan Carlos Valdivia, Conrado Martínez, Mauricio Meneses, y Bernardo Mota con Karen Barroeta, Ximena Cantuarias y Harold Sánchez de Telemundo como productores ejecutivos.
