Washington.-El Congresista Steve Russell present un poderoso discurso sobre inmigración ante miembros de la Casa el pasado Viernes 22 de Junio, aqui le presentamos su discurso: "Los inmigrantes expanden el país, cultivaban los campos, mantienen y construyen los ferrocarriles através de las ciudades de la nación."
"La estatua de la libertad debe seguir levantando su brazo y mantener su antorcha ardiendo brillantemente en lugar de cambiarlo por un brazo rígido y el dedo medio". "En 1917, un tercio de nuestra población nació fuera del país, o tenían un padre que era un inmigrante".
"Nosotros abortamos unos 1.2 millones de niños cada año. Si tuviéramos que sustraer a los inmigrantes de nuestra población, nuestro índice de natalidad real sería aún inferior."
"Cuarenta por ciento de los soldados que perdieron su vida en Irak eran inmigrantes o tuvieron padres inmigrantes... Uno obtuvo su ciudadanía después de su muerte."
A los 11 minutos de su presentación- preguntó: "¿qué podríamos hacer? podríamos asegurar nuestra frontera y proporcionar algún tipo de residencia permanente para los menores de edad conocidos como destinatarios DACA y afrontar la necesidad inmediata. Steve Russell Delivered Powerfull about Immigration

Washington.- Congressman Russell delivered a very powerful speech on the House floor regarding immigration, the following is what he said: “Immigrants expanded the country, cultivated the fields, spiked the railroads, and laid the cities across the nation.”
“Lady Liberty must continue to raise her arm and keep her torch burning brightly rather than exchange it for a stiff arm and middle finger.”
“By 1917, one-third of our nation’s population was born overseas, or had a parent who was an immigrant.”
“We abort about 1.2 million children each year. If we were to subtract the 39 million immigrants from our population since Rowe v. Wade, our actual birth rate would be even lower.”
“Forty percent of the soldiers I lost in Iraq were immigrants or had immigrant parents. . . One earned his citizenship posthumously.”
At the 11-minute mark, he asks, “What could we do? Some low hanging fruit would be to secure our border and provide some type of permanent residency for minors known as DACA recipients to address the immediate need. A bipartisan majority could readily vote for such a clean measure.”
He concludes, “I’m asking all Americans to please pray for this Congress and specifically for our President. . . How much time have we really spent on our knees praying for our leaders, regardless of what we think of them?”
